Is there such a thing as too white teeth?

Dr. Wolfson offers in-office ZOOM Teeth Whitening to all of his patients who would like to attain a brighter smile. But over-whitening, a painful and possibly dangerous condition, can occur over long periods of unmanaged whitening. Poorly fitted trays which you can buy in store may make the enamel of teeth more sensitive and irritate the gums. The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry warns patients that continued unmanaged whitening can cause the edges of the teeth to change color and can cause them to appear almost translucent or blue. If the tooth has a cavity, the bleach can travel to the pulp which causes the nerve of the tooth to die.
In order to prevent over-whitening, Dr. Wolfson recommends that his patients utilize his in-office ZOOM Whitening as well as take-home care to brighten their smiles. Over-the-counter products are not always best for everyone, so Dr. Wolfson provides specialized teeth whitening systems to his patients to add the finishing touch on that beautiful smile!
